To Take Action
Here are three steps you can begin implementing right now to make a major difference in your mindset.
1. Ask empowering questions. Eliminate phrases like, “I can’t” from your vocabulary. Replace them with positive questions like, “How can I ___?” Be curious about overcoming difficulties, and you’ll realize how resourceful you can be.
2. Recognize the difference between what’s objectively true and your brain’s interpretations. For example, your brain might be telling you something like: “I’m going to fail! Businesses are never going to recover! I’m going to lose my house!” But the actual truth is: You can do this. And while some businesses are struggling or even closing, others are weathering the storm just fine.
3. Turn off the 24-hour news cycle. It’s important to stay informed, but there’s a limit to how much information is truly necessary. Information overload can lead to feelings of powerlessness, despair, and panic. So limit your consumption.
