Questions about Freelance Success Framework
That’s a good question, and it’s smart to be thinking in those terms. Really, the course is right for you if you’re willing to take action. We give you all the steps you need—all of the proven, repeatable systems to build your business—plus plenty of support and coaching. But, of course, it’s up to all of our students to take action. If you’re ready to build a freelance career (whether full time or part time) that will meet all of your goals, and you’re willing to take action and follow the steps to get there, this course has everything you need.
Great question! You’ve already seen that a lot of the adages and advice other freelance coaches give may SOUND easy or wise … but they don’t actually work in real life. Do they do that because they haven’t actually been freelancers all that long and don’t know better? Or are they trying to sell people by telling them what they want to hear? Either way, we’re different.
This course is based on real-world, practical tactics and techniques—the ones that work, not the ones that sound easy or like they’ll get you rich quick. Nicki has taken everything she’s learned in her 20+ years of freelancing—the tactics that have helped her land and write for clients like Reebok, adidas, Hasbro, TripAdvisor and more—and put them into this course.
Plus, you have our team’s help and support. Remember that we’re in the weeds with you! We’re not just running this company—we’re still freelancing for clients all the time. Our company is only successful when our students are successful, and we are all personally vested in making sure you land clients, build your business, and have an amazing freelancing career. You’re not dealing with some faraway corporation; you’re dealing with Nicki and the FSF team.
There are a lot of crappy trainings out there, unfortunately. But to ease any concerns about whether the FSF will work for you, I’ve added in my 30-day “it works if you work it” guarantee. If you do all of the work and (somehow!) it doesn’t work for you, you can turn in your work within 30 days to get your money back.
Me too! But with other courses, two big things have been missing. First, accountability. In the Freelance Success Framework, your fellow students, my team, and I are right there with you … working beside you, and helping you make sure you stick with it.
And second, this isn’t just some little course to teach you some little tactic. It’s designed to change your life. You stick with something when you have a big enough reason to. And if your reason is that you’re FINALLY ready to have a fulfilling job that pays you well … FINALLY ready to give yourself (and, if you have one, your family) the kind of life you deserve … FINALLY ready to take yourself and your life seriously … that’s your big reason! You stick with it because you owe it to yourself to change your life!
Nope, not a chance! In the big wide webiverse, we know there are some scams out there, but we’re definitely not one of them. We’re dedicated to providing genuine, professional freelance training. So, feel confident and secure as you explore what we have to offer.
If you’ve already watched the free video and still have questions or need guidance, feel free to reach out. We’re here to support you on this adventure! [email protected].
So, as they say, the best time to get started was last year. The next best time is right now. You don’t need to be completely ready! Your lifetime access means that the course is ready for you whenever you’re ready for it.
Remember, too, that you don’t need to dedicate three hours every night to it; you can make progress with just 15 minutes a day. Also, you may never “feel” ready—there’s always something in life that will get in the way of the progress we want to make. The key isn’t to wait until the time is right (since the “right time” will never come); it’s to get started NOW and keep taking steps forward, even if they’re very small steps. You can complete a full marathon by making baby steps … as long as you actually take the steps.
Questions about Freelancing
100%, yes! Freelancers can work from a pretty much unending list of places, anywhere in the world: a home office, picnic table, coffee shop, hotel room, the bleachers at your kid’s soccer game. Or, if you’re the traveling type, from an Italian piazza, beach in the Maldives, Irish pub, poolside in Maui … you get the point.
There are some requirements to being able to do this, but as long as you have an excellent internet connection, can be reached by phone if necessary, understand what hours you’ll work (as well as how they relate to your clients’ business hours), and are conscientious of time zones, you can absolutely work from anywhere your heart desires.
The great news is that anyone can learn to be a freelancer as long as they have a service or skill to offer. With the Freelance Success Framework, you bring the thing you’re already good at (the skill/service—aka the hardest part), and we teach you all of the steps to turn it into a successful freelance career.
Yes, you have to “learn” how to freelance (because nobody is born just “knowing” how) … but if you can follow steps, then you absolutely CAN do it. And as questions come up or you hit a bump in the road along the way, just reach out to the FSF team—we’ll be here to help and guide you. That’s our job, and we love doing it!
It’s also important to note that freelancing isn’t something that requires a scarily serious commitment. Meaning, you don’t have to do it full time if you don’t want to. You don’t even have to do it continuously. You can freelance full time, part time, only at certain times (like saving for vacation, covering unexpected expenses, etc.), or keep it in your back pocket and ramp up or down whenever you want. You can make the natural flexibility of freelancing work for you!
Freelancing is not only something that can be taught … it MUST be taught. Why? Because nobody—and I mean nobody—wakes up one day just “knowing” how to freelance. It’s one thing to have a skill or service to offer, but it’s quite another to know how to find and land clients … and more importantly, do so consistently (so you never have the dreaded “dry spell”).
That’s exactly why we teach FSF students our *proven* systems and strategies for continually securing clients and running a successful freelance business of their very own.
Nope! Freelancing is based entirely on merit, and what matters is that you do good, quality work—not your age, gender, race, or any other demographic. And it doesn’t require the energy and “hustle” of a twentysomething to succeed. Simply put, being a successful freelancer isn’t about taking a ton of action but taking the right action. It also doesn’t involve a massive amount of work—it involves doing the right kind of work and doing it effectively and intelligently. A “work smarter, not harder” kind of thing.
When it comes down to it, potential clients want to hire someone who does excellent work. So don’t let self-imposed or external limits get in your way. Just do the steps and take intelligent action consistently, and you’ll reach your freelance goals.
Concerns about failing anytime we start something new are totally normal. But here’s the *exceptionally* good news: the possibility of failure can be totally taken out of the equation if you embark on freelancing with the right plan. With proven systems (for finding and landing clients, managing your time, etc.) in place from the get-go, the only way you can “fail” is if you don’t follow them or give up.
Not only that, but the private Facebook group and monthly coaching calls are invaluable resources for getting personal help (answers, guidance, encouragement, accountability, and feedback on your work) from our coaches, students, and Nicki and Kate themselves. Our entire team truly is committed to supporting our students and helping them build their own successful freelance businesses!
Freelancing is when a client/company pays you to do work (whether for a specific project or on an ongoing basis), but you’re not their “employee.” And that means you can work when you want, where you want, and how you want—as long you do good work and hit your deadlines, of course! Not only that, but you get to *choose* who you work with … and who you don’t.
Some people freelance full time, and others do it as a side hustle to earn extra cash. And just because you start freelancing doesn’t mean you have to do it forever. There’s a lot of flexibility—which is why the number of freelancers continues to grow by the millions in the US and around the world.
If you’re interested in learning more, here’s some additional info: https://firedupfreelance.com/what-is-freelancing/
Without a doubt, YES. You may have heard—perhaps from relatives, friends, a significant other, or maybe even people who have tried freelancing and failed—that freelancing is “risky” … not a viable career … that it can’t be done, or any number of other not-so-positive opinions.
But “opinions” is the operative word here. Because, while well-meaning (hopefully!), the people sharing their two cents—and I say this lovingly—do not know what they’re talking about. They want the best for you, but simply are not informed on the topic and are unaware of the vast world of opportunities out there for freelancers. Or, they tried making a go of freelancing without knowing how to run a business or having effective systems in place to find clients, manage their time, etc. (aka a recipe for failure in any type of business).
So, here’s something that I live by and highly encourage you to live by as well: Only take advice from people who have been successful at what you want to do.
There are plenty of freelancers thriving and enjoying successful careers … and there’s absolutely zero reason why you can’t be one of them!
Questions About Working as a Freelancer
No matter what you may have heard from struggling freelancers or well-meaning loved ones, there is more demand for freelancers than there is supply to meet that demand—and that goes for all industries.
In short: if a company or business would pay an employee to do it, they will pay a freelancer (aka you) to do it. In fact, many times they prefer to work with freelancers because of the advantages that doing so brings. Things like flexibility, the ability to work on projects as needed, and not having to commit to full-time employees (and pay for their benefits and perks) … just to name a few.
The lack-of-work problem arises when a freelancer doesn’t have the proven systems in place to find and land clients (but we provide all of that in the Freelance Success Framework, so we’ve got you covered!).
Check out these resources to dig a little deeper:
This course applies to a wide range of freelance industries, particularly those in which you could be hired by companies. It’s not geared toward industries like kids’ party planning, which typically involve individual clients.
The strategies and systems we teach are versatile and can be applied across different fields. Whether you’re a financial wizard, social media maestro, or an expert in any of a wide variety of fields in-between, the methods for finding clients, setting prices, building a strong online presence, and managing client relationships are universally applicable … regardless of your specific industry!
In short: if a company has ever paid someone to do a certain job, then they will pay for a freelancer to do it.
The idea of starting freelancing and not being able to get clients—or maybe having steady work for a while and then it dries up—is a really scary thought. And, to be frank, it is a possibility … for people who don’t have systems in place for finding and landing clients.
The truth is, freelancers who hit dry spells or encounter the dreaded “feast or famine” seasons end up in those predicaments because they did not have a system (at least not one that worked!) for consistently finding clients, reaching out to them with pitches that provide value (an absolute *must*), and getting hired.
In the Freelance Success Framework, we provide you with our simple, super effective systems that have helped Nicki, Kate, and thousands of our students secure a steady stream of clients and income in their freelance businesses. And it works. As long as you follow the system and keep following it … we are confident that it will work for you too.
Any job can get a bit stressful at times, but freelancing does *not* have to be a stressful career path. Some freelancers may worry about not having enough work … others may struggle with time management and hitting deadlines … and new freelancers, especially, might obsess over whether they’re doing everything right, wonder if they’ll succeed, etc. All of these things cause stress!
The good news is … we get it. And that’s why we equip our students with everything they need to combat these and other stressors:
- Proven, step-by-step systems for finding, landing, and repitching clients (to ensure they never encounter the dreaded dry spell)
- Guidance and resources for managing their clients and time (to avoid hectic rushes to hit—or worse, missing—deadlines)
- Support, encouragement, feedback, and accountability (to keep them on the right track and their businesses moving in a positive direction)
With all of these things (and more) in place, there’s no reason why your freelance career can’t be fun, fulfilling, steady and free from stress.
Yes! Freelancers can—and absolutely should—take time off from their businesses. Everyone deserves time off from their work to have fun, relax, and refresh. All you have to do is build it into your schedule, whether you want to take two weeks a year, three weeks, or whatever.
The key is to make sure you’re doing it the right way. This means informing your clients well in advance (at least a month), providing specific dates you’ll be unavailable (and sticking to them), blocking off your calendars, updating your webforms and autoresponders … and possibly even finding a trustworthy colleague who can help your client in case of an emergency while you’re out.
As long as you’re conscientious in doing it, you have the freedom and flexibility to structure your vacation time however works best for you!
Many Freelance Success Framework students have held down a full-time job while working through the program. And after completing it, some have quit those jobs and transitioned completely to freelancing, while others have stayed and decided to freelance part-time for supplemental income. It all comes down to what you want and what works best for your life.
But with lifetime access to everything in the FSF, our students can move at their own pace—whether that’s 10 minutes a couple times a week, a couple hours every day of the week, or whatever combination of time and frequency they have the bandwidth to do. This creates the ability to ramp up gradually and work on becoming established in your freelance career before quitting your full-time job.
And if you’re concerned about not having the “perks” of a traditional job (aka things companies use so they can pay employees less), don’t worry—they’re all things you can get for yourself! Watch the video below to find out more:
