Nicki Krawczyk is a copywriter and the founder of Nicki K Media, a growing family of brands that includes both FilthyRichWriter.com and FiredUpFreelance.com. She has maintained a successful freelance business throughout the past 20+ years working with clients including TripAdvisor, Marshalls, Hasbro, Keurig, adidas, and even Harlequin Romance novels (yup!).
Our Team of Freelancing Pros
Our team of wildly talented professionals come from a variety of backgrounds: marketing, branding, business development, technology, and customer service. Each member has freelancing experience and have come together to help you learn how you can successfully freelance, too.
Kate built her freelance copywriting business alongside her 9-to-5 job before going full-time freelance in 2015. Since then, she’s worked from four different states and two countries, including a four-year stint in Germany, consistently hitting six figures year over year.
Business Operations Manager
With over 15 years of freelancing experience in business operations and HR, Kaitlyn is excited to call Nicki K Media home. “It’s incredible to help others launch careers that they love as much as I love mine,” she says.
Julie is a freelancer, producer, and project manager with nearly a decade of experience. She began her career working with freelance software engineers to help them negotiate contracts for the best possible rates, and to help them with project management when collaborating with clients.
In addition to being a freelance business assistant for Nicki K Media, Tracy is a doula, wife, mom of four, and lover of all things Wisconsin. “Being part of the NKM team and watching our students’ journeys brings me so much joy,” Tracy says.
Meaghan is a freelance graphic designer, content creator, and webpage designer. “As someone who changed careers to find a more fulfilling path that fosters my creativity, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help others find a rewarding career that they love,” says Meaghan.

Until Stuart saw Nicki’s ad, he was a frustrated, furloughed manager for an international airline with a mortgage to pay.
In 2022, Stuart moved from copywriting part time alongside his 9-to-5 job to freelancing full time—and now earns more than at his full-time job.
(Or, More Accurately, Why Trial-by-Fire Isn’t the Best Way to Freelance)
Technically, the first “freelance” project I worked on came from my dad. As a marketing director, he would bring home copywriting assignments for me to work on.
But as Mad Men-y as that sounds, it wasn’t a straight line from my kitchen counter to a happily globe-trotting freelance career.
When I began freelancing, there was no playbook for how to make it happen. And if I’ve learned anything, winging it definitely isn’t the fastest (or most lucrative!) route to success. In fact, it’s usually the opposite. Now, I teach people exactly how to avoid the mistakes I made starting out, and how to follow the tried and true steps to success.
Since 2012, I’ve taught thousands of students become professional copywriters. But it wasn’t long after I started that people in other industries began asking me to teach them how to build their freelance businesses.
(After all, aside from the actual writing of copy, the principles and proprietary systems that I teach my students to help them build successful freelance copywriting careers are applicable to any kind of freelance career.)
I created Fired Up Freelance and our signature course, the Freelance Success Framework, to help you build a thriving career, working from wherever you want to and making as much as you can.
What you’ll find here are actionable insights, resources, and training (a.k.a. all the advice I wish I’d had before trialing and erroring my way through freelancing).
And—not to brag, just to give some credibility—the first time I made six figures was in 2008. Right in the middle of the Great Recession. Right after I left my full-time job to freelance full-time.
There has never been a better time to be a freelancer.
If you haven’t yet, I’d encourage you to get on our mailing list; we have tons of actionable tips and tools to share that will get you started.
It takes hard work and motivation, but all of my experience and knowledge (and my team’s experience and knowledge) is at your disposal.
