A Sneak Peek at the Episode
[0:22] Nicki previews the episode and gives a short summary of where Phil’s freelance career was when he joined the Freelance Success Framework.
[1:28] Phil explains that a career in freelance wasn’t his original plan. In fact, he started freelancing right out of college and found some success, but eventually opted for an on-staff job for almost 15 years. But, he explains how and why he eventually came back to a freelance career.
[5:37] Phil explains that one of the best parts of the FSF is that he can go back into the course when he needs to if he needs a refresher. He encourages others to use the FSF courses as a resource forever, not just a box to check off.
[9:06] Possibly the most surprising take away for Phil was the realization that he doesn’t have to sell his services. Instead, Phil knows that his experiences and skills combine to be a valuable service that he offers to share with others.
[13:29] Phil mentions that one of the top reasons he chose the FSF is the value of the course that it was taught by someone who had freelanced successfully. And, the fact that there was a community to support him along the way appealed to him, too.
[17:44] Phil speaks to the fact that this is one of the first times in a long time he feels in control. He gets to build his business exactly how he wants it to look.
[22:52] Phil closes the episode by expressing how happy he is that he joined the FSF. He explains that it filled in gaps he had in his freelance expertise, and now he feels empowered to be able to say that he is a successful freelancer. He says that if you follow the steps, you will have the clients and you will land work.
